Matt Benson, Esq. is a dedicated trial attorney with a deep commitment to advocating for those in need. Before entering private practice, Matt served over a decade in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps, where he represented service members across all ranks, from junior enlisted personnel to our nation’s most senior officers, in a wide range of legal matters. As part of his military service, Matt was appointed as a Special Assistant to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District, where he prosecuted over 50 federal crimes committed on military installations. He continues to serve in the U.S. Navy Reserves as a Commander (select).

Born and raised in Chico, California, Matt has deep ties to that community and witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by the Camp Fire, which affected many of his family and friends. His personal connection to wildfire victims reinforced his passion to team with Fox Fire Attorneys to help advocate for those who have suffered loss due to negligence and wrongdoing.
