Biography

Russ Gold is a trial lawyer honored with an “AV Pre-Eminent” rating by his peers (the highest rating) through Martindale Hubbell, a national, independent, lawyer rating service.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was a Comments Editor for the Law Review.

In addition to practicing law at his own firm, Russ Gold serves as “of counsel” attorney to Fox Law APC.  In this role, Russ provides counsel, advice, and assistance as needed to the firm’s lawyers who can benefit from Russ’ vast experience with many different types of cases and legal issues over the past 23 years.

Before starting his own firm, Russ began his legal career at Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps LLP in San Diego and he became a partner at the firm.  Russ then became a founding partner of the litigation boutique firm, Pestotnik + Gold LLP.    As Russ’ practice gradually evolved to helping more individuals and families achieve justice in personal injury and wrongful death cases, Russ joined Gomez Trial Attorneys to manage the firm’s North San Diego County office.  Russ has tried a variety of cases involving complex business disputes, business torts, fraud, financial elder abuse, personal injury, products liability, civil rights / excessive force, and wrongful death.  Russ now focuses on select serious personal injury, wrongful death, and complex business litigation cases.

Before he became a lawyer, Russ had a successful career as a sports physical therapist in San Diego.  Russ is a graduate of LEAD San Diego and has been active in a variety of community activities.  Presently, Russ serves as the Advocacy Chair for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s San Diego Affiliate.  Russ is an avid swimmer and cyclist, and he enjoys wakeboarding, wake surfing, and snowboarding.
